About IPU CET

Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) is a university-level entrance exam organized by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). It is held for admission to UG & PG courses in engineering, medical, dental, law, and management.

  • IPU CET 2019 for all programmes is scheduled between April 21 to May 20, 2019.
  • As per IPU CET Eligibility,candidates should have passed class 12 for UG courses. While for PG programs, applicants should have graduate degree.
  • Application forms for IPU CET 2019 are available on the official website from March 20. Apply Now
  • The exam pattern and syllabus varies course-wise. However, the exam is conducted in offline mode for all.  Check IPU MBBS/BDS Colleges - Seat Matrix and Admissions.

From 2019 onwards, the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will enrol students in its various programs through National Level Exams. The official notification confirming the same is given below:

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern

IPUCET 2019 for all programmes is scheduled between April 21- May 20 in offline mode. The exam pattern for every stream and course is different. The nature of questions (objective/ subjective) also differs. Given below are the highlights of IPU CET Exam Pattern for different courses:

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for BBA

The paper is divided into four sections. Questions are asked from English, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Management Aptitude. IPU CET for BBA comprises of 150 objective type questions to be solved within 2.5 hours.

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for B. Tech

Candidates who wish to seek admission to B. Tech course must have completed their secondary education in science stream. IPU CET for B. Tech shall test candidate’s aptitude based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The division of marking is equal i.e. 33% in IPU CET 2019 for B. Tech.

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for B. Com (Hons.)

The paper has 35 questions from Logical Reasoning, 40 questions from Language Comprehension, 25 questions from General Awareness and 50 questions from Data Interpretation.

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for LE- B. Tech (Diploma)

For Lateral Entry B. Tech course, candidates will have to appear for 4 sections in IPU CET 2019. The sections covered in it are- Applied Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Awareness. The weightage of each section is equal i.e. 25%.

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for LE- B. Tech (B. Sc.)

Candidates aspiring admission into LE- B. Tech (B. Sc.) must appear for IPU CET 2019 and give answers to the 4 sections covered in it. These sections are as follows:

IPU CET 2019 for B. Tech BT

There are three sections covered under Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test 2019 B.Tech BT i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The maximum weightage out of all three sections is of Biology/Biotechnology i.e. 50%. The other two sections are equally weighed- Physics (25%), Chemistry (25%).

Exam Eligibility

As Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission to various UG and PG courses of different streams, the eligibility criteria for each course differs. However, there are some basic eligibility conditions which must be taken care of before filling IPU CET 2019 Application Form:

  • Nationality- Indian
  • Minimum qualification for UG course- 10+2 board examination or equivalent exam
  • Minimum qualification for PG course- Graduation
  • Age limit for UG course- Not be more than 21 years or less than 18 years

IPU CET 2019 Reservation

  • There is a provision of reservation of seats for various categories.
  • GGSIPU provides special reservations for candidates who hail from Delhi while some percentage of seats is secured for candidates from outside Delhi.
  • However, if the college is self-financing, reservation of up to 10% will be made for candidates from management quota.

Admit Card

GGSIPU will release the admit card two weeks before the exam date. Separate hall tickets are released for each exam. IPU CET 2019 Admit Card is available in online mode only. In case of any discrepancy, conatct the authorities at acad.admissions@ipu.ac.in.

  1. Visit the official website of IPU CET 2019
  2. Enter your application number and password to log in
  3. Click on the link ‘IPU CET 2019 Admit Card’
  4. Admit card will be displayed on your screen.
  5. Download it and print multiple copies
Exam Coutoff

IPU CET 2019 Cut off will be announced by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). With the announcement of IPUCET Results, the cutoff list, displaying the minimum cutoff marks required for admission, is published at the official website i.e. ipu.ac.in.

  • IPU CET 2019 is scheduled between April 21 to May 20, 2019.
  • The result is expected to be announced in the last week of May.
  • Applicants score equal or more than cut off marks are called for IPU CET Counselling.
  • The cut off will be available in the form of opening rank and closing rank. 
  • The counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds. Check IPU CET 2019 Seat Allotment 
  • Cut off marks are calculated on the basis of various factors such as total number of seats available, total number of candidates who have applied, difficulty level of paper and previous year trends.
