About JEE Advanced

About JEE Advanced 2019

JEE Advanced is conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The seven IITs are IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee. Admissions to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the 23 IITs is on the basis of JEE Advanced 2019 ranks. JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee aided by the remaining six IITs mentioned above.

The application forms of JEE Advanced 2019 will be available tentatively in the first week of May. The entrance exam, JEE Advanced 2019 will be held on May 19 in two shits (9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm). The application process is online while the entrance test is computer based. The exam has two parts which are mandatory and come from the predefined syllabus released by the authorities. Candidates are required to download their admit cards a few days prior to the exam and the result of JEE Advanced 2019 will be announced tentatively in June. Admissions will be through counselling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority also known as JoSAA.

JEE Advanced 2019 Preparation Tips

Setting up a good strategy is very important while preparing for JEE Advanced 2019. If proper preparation tips are followed by the candidates, then there are higher chances of them doing well in the examination. Some of the JEE Advanced 2019 preparation tips that the candidates can follow are:

  • It is important for the candidates to know their syllabus in details so that they can plan out their studies well. 
  • Creating a schedule or time-table can benefit the candidates as it will evenly distribute the time to be spent on each subject or topic. 
  • Good and well-recommended books have to be checked and studied from.
  • Studying in a conceptual method is much better than rote learning.
  • By solving mock tests and attempting sample papers, the candidates can practice and learn from their mistakes.
Exam Syllabus

JEE Advanced Syllabus 2019 has been announced by IIT Roorkee on November 6. The syllabus covers questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics based on Class 11 and 12 of Science stream. Candidates should prepare in accordance with the syllabus of JEE Advanced to ace the exam like a pro. 

IIT Roorkee has scheduled JEE Advanced 2019 for May 27, 2019. There will be two papers in the exam and both are compulsory. JEE (Advanced) is the second stage of Joint Entrance Examination after JEE Main. For the reference, the syllabus for JEE Advanced is not same as of the JEE Main.

JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria

JEE Advanced 2019 eligibility criteria are the list of requirements and conditions that the candidates have to satisfy to participate in the examination, Before filling the application form, the candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2019. Ineligible candidates will be disqualified from the examination process. JEE Advanced eligibility criteria have been listed out below:

  • Age Limit – General category candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1994. Relaxation of 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category.
  • Qualifying Examination – Should have passed 10+2th standard qualifying (or equivalent) examination in 2018. Those who are appearing for the exam in 2019 will also be eligible for JEE Advanced. 
  • JEE Main – The candidates should have qualified JEE Main examination. The cutoff for admissions into IITs should also be met by the candidates
  • Number of Attempts – For JEE Advanced, the candidates will be able to attempt the examination two times in two consecutive years. 
  • IIT Admissions – The candidates should have never taken admission in an IIT irrespective of whether they continued the programme or not or just accepted the seat by reporting at the centre. The candidates who have earlier joined any IIT but had subsequently cancelled their admission will also not be termed eligible for JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced AAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

There are certain conditions that the candidates have to meet to attempt JEE Advanced AAT 2019. Firstly, the candidates should have attempted and qualified JEE Advanced 2019 examination. Currently, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee provide admissions into B.Arch courses, so the candidates will have to secure the required cutoff to have higher chances of admission.

Admit Card

JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card

Only registered candidates will be able to access and print out the JEE Advanced 2019 admit card. It is an important document which has to be produced at the exam centre. Inability to produce the admit card will lead to the candidate’s disqualification from attempting the examination. Information about the examination centre and timings will be present in the admit card. Along with the admit card of JEE Advanced 2019, the candidates will also have to bring along a valid photo identity proof. The steps to download the JEE Advanced admit card 2019 are listed below:

  • Candidates will have to provide their registration number of JEE Advanced 2019, date of birth, mobile number and email id to check the admit card.
  • Click on Submit
  • After submitting the above-mentioned details, the admit card of JEE Advanced 2019 will be displayed on the screen. After checking for discrepancies, the admit card has to be downloaded and printed out.

JEE Advanced AAT Admit Card 2019 

No separate admit card will be published for JEE Advanced AAT 2019. The candidates will have to produce their JEE Advanced 2019 admit card at the examination venue. Failure to produce the admit card will lead to the candidates being unable to attempt the examination. The admit card also has to be kept safely since it will be required for the rest of the admission process.

Exam Coutoff

JEE Advanced 2019 Cutoff

JEE Advanced 2019 cutoff will act as a screening process and is divided into two parts – qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff. The qualifying cutoff of JEE Advanced 2019 consists of the minimum marks that the candidates have to secure to be listed out in the rank list. Admission cutoff is the minimum ranks which the candidates will have to secure to have higher chances of admissions into the participating institutes. The cutoff will be different as per the category, course and institute selected by the candidates.
